Soquel High’s baseball team, enjoying one of the finest seasons in Santa Cruz County history, gave powerhouse Valley Christian all it could handle in the first round of the Central Coast Section Division I playoffs Saturday.
Will Shilling scored a team-high 15 points, and the No. 9 seed Scotts Valley High boys basketball rolled past unseeded KIPP San Jose 58-36 in the first round of the Central Coast Section Division IV playoffs on Friday night.
