Scotts Valley High’s football team still has four games remaining in the Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission North Division, but the Falcons continue to look like the title is their’s to lose.

Gianna Winterhalder and Amelie Stotland were consistent in their barrage of 3-point attempts in the Santa Cruz Cruz Coast Athletic League Tournament semifinals on Thursday. So was Lily Thayer on the offensive glass.

After a roller-coaster first-set deuce defeat, Santa Cruz High’s girls volleyball team tightened its defense and diversified its offense to roll to a 28-30, 25-18, 25-21, 25-14 victory to take control of the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League race Thursday night.  

Aptos High has three college committed arms in its starting rotation. Rival Santa Cruz proved Tuesday that it has some quality pitching, too.

Santa Cruz High’s baseball team is still putting things together as it hopes to make a run at the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League baseball title this season. It took a step forward in its latest game, thanks to some timely hitting and solid middle relief pitching in its 5-2 win over Scotts Valley on Friday.
